Competition Policy

How HF2A supports professional exchange while respecting each organisation’s independent commercial decisions.

Last updated: 14 September 2026

Purpose and Scope

HF2A supports professional exchange while respecting each organisation’s independent commercial decisions. This policy applies to Association meetings, events, working groups and communication channels.

What May Be Discussed

Discussion may cover technical subjects, research, education and publicly available industry developments. Participants must not coordinate prices, allocate customers or markets, restrict output, rig bids or organise collective boycotts. Competitors must not exchange non-public information about current or future pricing, margins, bids, customer terms or business strategy through HF2A channels.

Running an Activity

Organised discussions should have an agenda and a record. If a concern arises, the chair should stop the discussion, record the issue and arrange appropriate review before it resumes. Participants should object to an improper discussion and leave if it continues. Concerns may be reported to [email protected].

Information Projects and Membership

Proposed industry surveys and information-sharing projects will be reviewed for competition concerns before launch. Membership and participation criteria should be relevant to the Association’s purpose and applied consistently. An introduction through HF2A leaves each organisation free to decide whether and how to proceed.
